About the Artist:
 
Maria-Alejandra Icaza Paredes is a designer and an architect specialized in furniture and product design. She currently works in a multidisciplinary studio designing interiors, furniture, products and art installations. In parallel she develops her personal artworks, crafts and designs under the name of MAIPdesigns.
 
In 2012 she begins her education as a designer in Florence, Italy where she studies Interior Design and Industrial Design. She then goes on to study a Bachelor of Architecture and graduates in 2017. In 2019 she receives a Master of Art in Industrial Design and a Master of Art in Furniture Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. In recent years she has been awarded several Honorable Mentions from IDA Design Awards and European Product Design Award
